Where do garment-specific claims come from?
From the manufacturer's care guidance or the venue or operator's own published policies. Forum questions can point to topics worth covering, but they are never treated as proof of prevalence.

How we work
The standards this site is held to on sourcing, imagery, attribution and corrections — and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Our point of viewWHY WE ARE HERE
Sourcing comes first. Any claim specific to a garment traces back to the manufacturer's care guidance or to the venue or operator's own published dress policies. These are the two source types a reader can check for themselves.
Questions and answers posted in forums can suggest which topics are worth covering. A forum thread never proves how common a situation is or what most venues expect, so it is not used as evidence for a claim.
Outfit imagery on this site is illustrative and generated. It exists to show proportions, pairings and color combinations. It is never presented as photographic evidence of how a garment fits, how a fabric behaves or what a care method produces.
Every article is reviewed before publication against the same checklist. Review confirms the direct answer appears up front, claims match their sources, and tradeoffs and next steps are stated rather than implied.
The same review compares each page with its neighbours in the section. That keeps topics from repeating or contradicting each other across guides.
Recommendations are independent. There are no affiliate links, no paid placements, no advertising, and no analytics or cookie tracking, so nothing on a page is there because a brand or retailer benefits from it. When a piece is named, it is named because it fits the formula being described.
Corrections are welcome and taken seriously. If you spot a factual error, email hello@smartcasualattire.com with the page URL and, where possible, the source that contradicts it. The claim is checked against its sources, and confirmed errors are fixed at the page itself.
One caveat on contact: the form on the contact page is a preview and does not currently send messages, so email is the dependable route for correction reports.
Journal pieces follow the same discipline with one addition. A piece only covers a development that has been verified, with sources linked so readers can check the reporting themselves. Speculation about upcoming trends or unconfirmed changes is not published, and event dates are distinguished from publication dates so a story's timing is never overstated.
These standards describe how the site works today, not aspirations for later. Where a practice is new or still being built out, the pages themselves say so rather than this page promising it in advance.

Where to report an error — email is the working route.
A FEW THINGS WE BELIEVE
From the manufacturer's care guidance or the venue or operator's own published policies. Forum questions can point to topics worth covering, but they are never treated as proof of prevalence.
A sourced fact is a claim traceable to a care label or published dress policy, such as 'this fabric is machine washable cold'. A suggestion is editorial judgement built on that fact, such as pairing loafers with chinos for a smart casual office. Generated imagery is neither: it illustrates a combination and proves nothing about fit or results.
No. The imagery is illustrative and generated. It shows pairings and proportions, never fit, fabric behavior or care results as photographic evidence.
Email hello@smartcasualattire.com with the page URL and, where possible, the source that contradicts the claim. The report is checked against the sources the page used, and confirmed errors are corrected. Fixing a stated fact is treated as routine maintenance, not an exception.
There are none to disclose: no affiliate links, no paid placements, no advertising and no tracking. If that ever changes, the disclosure will appear on this page and on the pages affected before any commercial link does.
